What's 2D/3D Hologram? One layer is 2D. More than one layer is 2D/3D. There's view distance between two layers, so there's viewing depth when you see different image in different layer.

This is 2D/3D hologram design with two layers, two color. Floating layer is above the surface layer. Background layer hologram images are under surface. There's no hologram image on surface layer. So the depth distance between floating layer and background layer get double.
